21-Day-Fast Devotional - Day 06: Your Testimony

Your Testimony

written by William Hartz

Hebrews 11 is referred to as the “Hall of Faith.” It recaps the stories of Bible characters like Abraham, Jacob, Rahab, and David, and shares how their faith led to a great move of God, who was able to work through them and help them grow and achieve wonders. In the very next verse, after sharing the stories of these “heroes of the faith,” Hebrews 12:1 says:

”Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”

The author tells us that the stories – the testimonies – of these people inspire and allow us to run our own race and live out the lives that God has for us.

What is your testimony? How has God worked in your life to bring you to where you are? And how can your story inspire others on their own journey of faith? And who can you share it with this week?

Take a moment to pray and ask God to reveal his work in your life and who needs to hear that story.

Prayer: God help me see clearly your work in my life. I know that you’re always doing things in me, through me, and around me. Reveal to me those that need to hear my testimony. May I be an instrument in your hand to bring you glory and honor every day of my life. - Amen
