21-Day-Fast Devotional - Day 01: Seeking God’s Presence
Seeking God’s Presence
written by Elder Jennifer Cedeño
Good morning and welcome to 2023! Today begins a new year, with new beginnings… a year were we will learn to dwell in God’s presence every day. As we wake up on this cold day, let us not forget how God wants to surround us with His presence. He wants to wrap us in His presence daily like a warm Sherpa blanket.
You see, God’s presence is real, it’s that tangible…full of love, and completely transformational. It takes what was broken and brings healing. It takes what was lost and guides us to our rightful place in the Father. His presence satiates the weary, brings light to the darkness, and pours out the refreshing rain of God’s love on the dryest, deepest parts of the soul.
You were created for encountering God! God longs to make the reality of His presence known to you as real as that warm blanket is around you. He longs to refresh you with His nearness. Don’t be fooled my child, for God is everywhere. He is in the busiest, quietest, hardest and most mundane parts of our days. He is in smiles and hugs, sunrises and sunsets, the wind and waves. He is in office meetings, car rides, shopping malls, coffee lines, churches, airports, police stations, park benches, hospital rooms, elevator conversations and shelters, and He is with you always. Don’t miss him.
Allow your desires to be stirred up to encounter the living God today and every day this year. There is an adventure waiting… grab his hand today and walk with Him. You won’t be disappointed. Dwell in His presence.
“Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence? If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!” Psalm 139:7-8
